BlockTrain’s mission is to connect current and future trades professionals to address the skilled worker shortage while meeting the needs of local industry. Central to this mission is our commitment to transparency, including the data we collect about you and how it is used. This Privacy Policy applies when you use our Services.
The BlockTrain service is a cloud and blockchain platform and mobile application (collectively, “BlockTrain Service”) provided by BlockTrain LLC that allows skilled trades businesses to offer micro-incentives to career seekers for taking steps toward career readiness and advancement.
BlockTrain partners with community-based organizations, High Schools, post-secondary institutions, labor, and corporations, to offer career seekers 16 years of age or over with incentives and guidance.
INTRODUCTION
Our registered users (“Members”) share their professional identities, engage with their network, exchange knowledge and professional insights, view relevant content, learn and develop skills, and find training and career opportunities. Content and data on some of our Services is viewable to non-members (“Visitors”).
SERVICES
This Privacy Policy applies to Blocktrainapp.com, BlockTrain-branded apps, and other BlockTrain-related communications and services, including off-site services.
DATA CONTROLLERS AND CONTRACTING PARTIES
BlockTrain will be the controller of your personal data provided to, or collected by or for, or processed in connection with, our Services. As a Visitor or Member of our Services, the collection, use and sharing of your personal data is subject to this Privacy Policy, as well as updates.
CHANGE
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time, so we encourage you to review it frequently. If we change this Privacy Policy, we will post such changes to the Site and other places in the Applications we deem appropriate. Data You Provide to Us
Registration: to create an account you need to provide data including your name, email address, and zipcode. If you register for a paid Service, you will need to provide payment and billing information.
Profile: you have choices about the information on your profile, such as your education, work experience, skills, photo, city or area, and endorsements.
Uploading: we collect personal data from you when you provide, post, or upload it to our Services, such as when you fill out a form, respond to a survey, or submit a job application on our Services.
Data From Others
Partners: we receive personal data (for example, a reference) about you when you use the services of our customers and partners, such as employers and training providers.
Service Use
We log data when you visit or otherwise use our Services, including our sites, app and platform technology, such as when you view or click on content or respond to emails, perform a search, install or update our mobile app, or apply for training or jobs. We use log-ins, cookies, device information and internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use.

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect data to recognize you and your device(s) across different services and devices when you have engaged with our Services.
Your Device and Location
When you visit or leave our Services, we receive the URL of both the site you came from and the one you go to and the time of your visit. We also get information about your network and device. If you use our Services from a mobile device, that device will send us data about your location based on your phone settings.

Neither our Site nor our Services are intended for use by children under 16 years of age.

As part of these activities, we may create aggregated, de-identified or other anonymous data from personal information we collect. Third Parties Designated by You. We may share your personal information with third parties where you have provided your consent to do so.

Data Retention
We generally retain your personal data as long as you keep your account open or as needed to provide you Services.
Rights to Access and Control Your Data
We provide choices about the collection, use and sharing of your data. For personal data, you can: delete data, change or correct data, limit the use of data, and ask us for a copy of your personal data.
Account Closure
If you choose to close your BlockTrain account, your personal data will stop being visible to others on our Services.
We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to "unsubscribe" from further messages from us. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.

Security
We seek to use commercially reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect personal information within our organization. However, no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, email sent to or from us may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via the Internet. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any personal information to us via the Internet. In addition, we are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Applications, or third party websites. Additionally, you must keep your account password confidential and not disclose it publicly or to unauthorized individuals.
Lawful Bases for Processing
We will only collect and process personal data about you where we have lawful bases. Lawful bases include consent, and where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you and “legitimate interests.”
Direct Marketing
We currently do not share personal data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your permission.
